OCTOBER - mental health

OCTOBER - mental health

Mental health is very important. It impacts how we feel, think, and behave every single day.  It contributes to enjoyment of life, ability to cope with stress and sadness, the fulfillment of goals and potential, and our sense of connection to others. That's why, we must make the commitment to care about our own mental wellness. TAKE THE TIME THIS MONTH, TO CREATE HABITS THAT WILL FOREVER IMPACT YOU.

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO TAKE YOUR TIME NAVIGATING THIS MONTH’S OFFERINGS. PLAY AROUND WITH DIFFERENT SETTINGS, SCHEDULES, AND MIX OF MODALITIES. YOU MAY FIND THAT YOUR MIND & BODY WILL NEED DIFFERENT THINGS EACH DAY. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU GIVE YOURSELF THE TIME TO - PAUSE - how that looks & feels may change each day - and thats ok - because this is your practice.

JOURNAL PROMPTS

Putting our thoughts on paper is a very powerful meditative tool. Allow these prompts to guide you and inspire your creative writing flow each day.

  • 1 Who are some of your closest friends right now? Who in your life understands you, supports you, and encourages you?

2 When was the last time you laughed really hard? Like cackling can’t-control-yourself laughter… What were you laughing at and who were you with?

3 What is your idea of a perfect day? Describe it in detail. Who are you with? What are you doing? Where are you?

4 What items or objects bring you the most comfort? What about them makes you feel at ease?

5 When was the last time you did something for someone else, with no other agenda other than to help? What did you do? Who did you help?

6 What songs have had the biggest impact on you? Not necessarily your favorites, but are there any that speak to you? Have any songs changed your perspective on something?

7 What are your favorite things about yourself? What traits and attributes do you appreciate the most?

  • Descriptio8 Write a letter to yourself on your worst day. When your mental health is at its all-time lowest, what would you tell yourself?

9 What does self-care mean to you? Describe the last time you really cared for yourself.

10 Who has given you a reason to smile in the past few days? Write a bit about them and how they make you smile.

11 What would other people say is your superpower? What do others look to you for?

12 One thing that I'm holding on to that I'd like to let go of is...

13 Name three experiences that made you feel brave

14 Write about the three things you are most proud of. Why are you proud of these things?n text goes here

  • 15 Write a letter to yourself as a child. What would you tell yourself about life? What would you tell yourself to avoid or to lean into?

16 What do you do to help your physical health? (Think exercise, food choices, sleep, etc.) WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?

17 You are now in the final quarter of the year. What does that mean to you?

18 Write about a tough time in your life and how you overcame it.

19 One thing that motivates me to keep going when things feel really tough is...

20 Compare this October to last October. You can compare what you did to what you’re doing, how you felt to how you’re feeling, or any aspect of the months that feel similar or dissimilar.

21 Write a letter to your future self. What do you hope life will be like then? What would your present self tell your future self?

  • Desc22 How have you connected with your community this month?

23 Who has helped you the most throughout your life?

24 Reflect on your relationship with social media. How does it affect your mental health, and how can you create a healthier balance?

25 What is something you should say ‘no’ to more often?

26 Write a letter to someone who hurt you. Tell them how their actions made you feel.

27 What is something you should ask other people to help you with?

28 Write a poem. It doesn’t have to be world-class, just pick a theme and try to write a poem around it.ription text goes here

  • 29 What does your evening routine look like and what would you like to change or add to it?

30 Reflect on your personal development journey. What are some milestones you’ve reached, and what challenges do you still face?
